CONSERVATION + PHOTOGRAPHY
Sustain Focus is an 8-month immersive education program for students 15-25 that connects conservation principles with photography through structured instruction, field-based learning, and real-world application. Designed for students in Dominica, the program blends creative skills with environmental literacy, helping participants learn to observe, document, and understand the ecosystems around them.
Students are guided by a professional photographer and participate in twice-monthly sessions lasting 1.5 hours. Each session balances conservation instruction with hands-on field learning, introducing environmental concepts through short educational videos followed by guided time outdoors for observation and photography.
Over the course of the program, students build:
- Foundational understanding of ecosystems and stewardship
- Extensive field experience applying conservation concepts
- Creative and technical photography skills for visual storytelling
Through education, mentorship, field experience, and applied practice, Sustain Focus offers a grounded pathway into conservation, empowering students to become informed storytellers and future stewards of Dominica’s natural environment.
