Christopher Costello

The Christopher Costello Memorial Scholarship supports the next generation of young conservation storytellers by funding essential elements of the Sustain Focus Program. Established in memory of Christopher Costello whose work and passion continue to inspire. The scholarship helps provide instructional support for program educators and professional photography kits for outstanding student capstone projects.
Through this scholarship, students gain access to mentorship, creative tools, and opportunities to document and protect Dominica’s natural environment.
His Work
Mentoring others came naturally to Chris. He was drawn to contemplation and sharing perspectives. In his copy of the book, Letters To A Young Poet, by Rainer Maria Rilke, he underlined this quote: “If you will stay close to nature, to its simplicity, to the small things hardly noticeable, those things can unexpectedly become great and immeasurable.” Christopher’s tag line was, “The Way I See It…” Through the Wild Dominica Conservancy Christopher Costello Memorial Scholarship, we hope to continue his legacy and empower aspiring photographers to join in the appreciation and preservation of the lush and vibrant landscape of Dominica; the way they see it.
Our family extends its heartfelt gratitude to The Wild Dominica Conservancy, and sincere best wishes to all those who participate in these programs.
