Coastal & Watershed Protection

Coastal and watershed systems form the critical link between Dominica’s forests, rivers, coastlines, and marine environments. Coastal & Watershed Protection focuses on strengthening understanding and stewardship of these systems through education, collaboration with local stakeholders, and partnerships with research institutions. Rather than operating as a standalone intervention program, this work is embedded across our educational initiatives and research collaborations; ensuring that conservation concepts are taught, studied, and applied within real island ecosystems.

As a Small Island Developing State (SIDS), Dominica relies on healthy watersheds and coastlines to support biodiversity, fisheries, agriculture, and climate resilience. Building understanding through education and research is a critical first step toward effective, long-term conservation.
